Decision Process Leading to v8.9 for Civilians Current situation Civilians and Military use PeopleSoft v7.5 Vision 2010 context: August 2005 Vice Chief of the Defence Staff decision to implement v8.9 for civilian PeopleSoft Treasury Board Secretariat’s April 2006 directive reaffirmed: Single HR system of record for Government = PeopleSoft v8.9 - single enterprise resource planning Military will continue using PeopleSoft v7.5 pending further studies Civilians will use PeopleSoft v8.9
Role of Project Intent of the project: To deliver support to civilian HR management through the implementation of the GC PeopleSoft v8.9 with the absolute minimum of customization 2 main components of the project: Project Director ADM (HR-Civ) *** HRBTO Project Manager ADM (IM) *** Defence Integrated Human Resource System (DIHRS) Project Management Office Identifies and communicates business requirements for implementation and supports business transformation Technical solution and system implementation based on the business requirements identified
First Release Being Delivered Oct 2007 • All current 7.5 Functionalities • With Business Process realignment to avoid • recreating the current customizations • 2. Labour Relations Modules • 3. Self-Service functionalities • Leave Self Service • Employee tombstone data through E-Profile • Introduction of User Productivity Kit as the principal • training and on-line user support tool
The Way Ahead • Completion of Fit Gap process on O&E component of the Position Management Module (March 07) • Synchronization and Conversion of data (between 7.5 to 8.9) • Performance testing and User Acceptance Testing • Training Delivery (Start September 07) • Development of In-Service Support to users and Roll-out Plan • Launch (October 07)
