CS 8.9 User Experience Goals 1. Make it easy for end users to learn and be productive Goal-centered design • Navigation has been streamlined and graphically enhanced to provide direct access to real-time data and the most frequently used functions. • Intelligent defaults reduce or eliminate errors • On-screen feedback provides a clear understanding of where s/he is in the process, and what is required to complete the task • Pages have been redesigned to be more informative, eliminate unnecessary scrolling and enable immediate action. • Error prevention has been designed in, and making actions reversible where possible (undo) 2. FFELP – Common Record: Commonline • Support for Common Record: CommonLine (CRC) • New industry-standard XML file format • Consolidates multiple file types into single format to simplify processing • Replaces EDI Manager for FFELP processing • Will continue support for CL4 • Simplified setup (CR:C only) • New structure uses effective-dated Loan Destination Profiles rather than Aid Year specific for CL4 • Loan Edit structures changed to remove Aid Year • Loan Agency (lenders, guarantors, and servicers) consolidated into single component for CRC processing • Simplified maintenance – no longer needs to be copied or maintained for each Aid Year, and fewer components to maintain
