What is Cyberbullying ????????? • Known as “electronic bullying” • Uses internet or any digital technologies to harass and bully others • It is current a major issue because everyone are widely using internet online as a searching machine • Kids/teenagers are mostly be affected by cyberbullying

  3. Two types of Cyberbullying • Direct Attack • inappropriate and harmful messages sent directly to a victim • Example-Instant message/text messaging • Cyberbullying by proxy • using others to help cyberbully the victim • often gets adults involve in harassment , so is much more dangerous • Sometime a person might go in to a victim’s blog and send hateful and rude messages to people and pretend he or she is the victim

  4. Examples of Cyberbullying You will just receive a simple hateful message: “I hate you….the whole world hates you….you should just die”. Your picture and information could be posted in a website, that others could vote publicly for as like who the ugliest, fattest, or unpopular.

  7. How severe it is?? • Affected students’ education in school • causing mental problems • Make each individual felt unsecure around his or her environment • the worst outcome would be causing a person to take out their own life (suicide) Think Before You Do!!

Additional Stats and facts • Girls are about twice as likely as boys to be victims of cyber-bullying • Only 11% tells parents about cyberbullying • 42% of kids have been bullied while online. 1 in 4 have had it happen more than once • Now bullying are mostly being replaced by cyberbullying, since now online are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week at all time; it is much easier for people to bully someone and easier to get away from punishment

  9. Tips / Prevention of Cyberbullying • Try to put less information about you and your personal life in social website. Also try to not upload pictures that you don’t want people to see. • Try to talk to your parents or anybody that you trusted for problems • Never agree to meet any strangers or anyone you meet online
