Confirmation Lesson 7
Romans 1:20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. The universe shows us that there is a god (intelligent design).
Romans 2:14-16The Message14-16 When outsiders who have never heard of God’s law follow it more or less by instinct, they confirm its truth by their obedience. They show that God’s law is not something alien, imposed on us from without, but woven into the very fabric of our creation. There is something deep within them that echoes God’s yes and no, right and wrong. Their response to God’s yes and no will become public knowledge on the day God makes his final decision about every man and woman. The Message from God that I proclaim through Jesus Christ takes into account all these differences. Our conscience points out that there is a God.
What things can we learn about God from creation and conscience? God is intelligent and loving. God is holy and has put a conscience within us to put us on the path to do what is right.
What can’t we learn? • How to get rid of sin. Did God provide a solution to sin? What is God’s solution to mankind’s problems? Who is our Savior?
Natural Knowledge God desires us to seek him out throughout our lifetime. Isaiah 55:6-7
Explain religion around the world? • Common sense demands that there is a God. • People desire to know who God is.
Where did this world come from? • In six days God created the universe.
Evolutionary theory versus the Bible • Science does not prove evolution. More and more, science point us to an intelligent designer of all things (God). The Bible is true. Science is not always right in its conclusions (Flat earth).
Case for Creation (8 of 10) • Creationist: • Francis Bacon • Galileo • Kepler • Blaise Pascal • Isaac Newton • Louis Pasteur http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs5wGFbkb40
Where did Human Beings come from? • Genesis 2:7 • Genesis 1:26-27 • God created Adam and Eve and gave them each a soul.
Theory of evolution says… • Evolution says: A big bang and then 3.8 billion years ago a single-cell organism has become the ancestor of every living thing.
Psalm 14:1 • It is more reasonable to believe in God!
God is not only the creator of all things, but… • God preserves His creation
