This Week At Allsorts 21/10/2013

1. Notices/Dates: • Children’s Hallowe’en event on Thursday 31st October in the Red Lion. Details to follow in separate email. • Trip to Wittenham Clumps. We are hoping to organise a trip to the Clumps next term, more details to follow. • Please return photo order forms asap. Many thanks. • Please note that pick up times are 11.45 after the morning session, 12.45 after lunch club and 2.45pm on Tuesday afternoons. Please ensure that you pick children on time as it can be upsetting for the children when the others are all going and also disrupts the start of next session. Please try to phone ahead and let us know if you are unavoidably late. • On the far wall of the playroom there is a painted tree, which is our “ideas tree”. If your child mentions something that they would really like to do at preschool, or something they have done which they would like to do more of, then please feel free to note it down and blutak it onto the tree. If at all possible we will then incorporate it into our planning. • From the Committee: • Please come along to the Hallowe’en event and help the preschool to raise funds to improve our outside space. • This week we have… • Arts and Crafts: we have made pumpkins and witches hats, as well as pictures using jewellry and picture frames and making leaf rubbings. • Cookery: We scooped out our own pumpkin, roasting the seeds which we all tried for snack and then we lit the pumpkin with a candle. We have made cheerio bracelets, which were very popular! • We have made the most of the rainy weather getting out and about in our waterproof clothes, splashing in lots of puddles. • Tuesday afternoon: we went to the park and played hide and seek and “find the number”. • Next week… • Half term next week, have a lovely time and see you week beginning Monday 4th November when we will be celebrating Bonfire Night and Diwali. • Could you please bring in any small jam jars, flower pots and small tins for our activities.
