Response to Intervention (RtI) Group A Procedures for Academic and Emotional/Behavioral Concerns Pre-Referral for SLD and/or EBD Student Name ____________________________ Student not making progress with Core Curriculum or Classroom Behavior strategies (Tier 1) refer to School-Based Intervention Team (S-BIT) S-BIT Tier 2 meeting:  Interventions developed and Tier 2 S-BIT form (O-SS-17) completed  More frequent progress monitoring begins  Parent contact made and Parent Notification of Intervention Activities (O-SS-19) and RtI and/or PBS Brochure sent home Tier 2 interventions not successful, start Tier 3:  Meet with S-BIT and develop plan with new and/or more frequent and/or intensive interventions using Tier 3 S-BIT form (0-SS-18)  The certified teacher does an observation as part of the O-SS-18  If emotional/behavioral concerns: School-based functional behavior assessment is conducted (School-based, but Behavior Packet on Q:drive should be used)  Document parent conference in Teacher/Academic folder, including discussion of:  Specific academic/emotional/behavioral concerns  School-Based interventions planned  Anticipated school-based effects of interventions Tier 2 interventions successful: Continue interventions OR return student to Tier 1 Tier 3 interventions successful: Continue interventions OR return student to Tier 2 Tier 3 interventions not successful:  Complete Pre-Referral Request (O-SS-03)  Guidance sets up meeting with school psychologist  Parent Invitation to S-BIT Meeting (use O-SS- 16) sent, no procedural safeguards attached at this time Full ESE referral requested, complete: Consent form (O-EX-04 or 24) with procedural safeguards attached  Social/Developmental History (O-EX-06) Sensory screening (O-EX-01) if not already done ESE referral (O-EX-02): attach observation from Tier 3 form and do one more observation by certified member of multi- disciplinary team Emotional/Behavioral concerns: document counseling and ESE Behavior Interventionist begins BIP assessment More interventions implementedand progress monitoring continues at Tier 3 level Initial screening requested, complete: Consent to Screen (O-SS-15), no procedural safeguards attached  Sensory Screening (O-EX-01) Pre-referral team meets again to discuss student progress Full ESE referral requested if screening indicates need Interventions successful: Continue interventions OR return student to Tier 2 Rev. 09/08
