Objectives of TecPro • Training of personnel during program implementation. • Build up knowledge at UEM in the subject of natural resources technology processing. • Improve analytical and processing abilities at UEM • Contribute for the training of UEM staff in order to launch a UEM/based Master and/or Ph.D. • Gaining and sharing scientific and technological expertise • Facilitating technical and commercialisation support between academia, industry and government 07

  8. DSEE Course @ UEM - (Activities to Date) Cycles (2006-2008, 2007-2009 and 2008-2010) • 35 M.Sc. Students attending the course, 30 of which with 25,000 SEK/Year scholarship; • Coordinator interacting continuosly with the DSEE Course central management and other Coordinators from 7 African Universities; • Facilitators guiding discussions held @ the Faculty of Engineering; • Facilitators proctoring the exams, course works and other activities; and 08

DSEE Course @ UEM - (Course Approach to 20011) • 4 Academic Cycles of 2 years duration each. • Each Cycle:Lectures for 6 Quarters (40 SAC) + Thesis for 6 Months (20 SAC) • Cycle 1: 2006-2008 • Cycle 2: 2007-2009 • Cycle 3: 2008-2010 • Cycle 4: 2009-2011 • UEM staff gradually taking over full academic responsibilities throughout the Cycles; and • UEM also assuring Thesis Supervision and proctoring in envisaged local activities. 09
