Culture note Invitations out • Being invited to someone’s home in a foreign country poses questions about what to wear, what to take, and when to arrive and leave. Going out for a meal or a drink can present other difficulties. It is not always clear from the invitation who is going to pay. Questions like ‘do you fancy a drink?’ or ‘what aboiut a meal?’ could mean you are offering to buy a drinkd or meal. • This is my round. Let me get this. Invite him/her for dinner in a restaurant. Student B You are the GM. You are attending a business conference at the HQ of your com.
