Cheat sheet for Teacher Evaluation • These ideas or concepts are to be the norm and not the exception: ( Prove it ) • Use of MDC or LDC ( 2/3 way into a unit ) • Use of NGCAR-PD ( day to day teaching ) • Use of Kagan ( designed within the groups ) • Use of Lesson Studies ( this will help all kids ) • Common Planning within your subject / team • Data Chats with teachers, students and parents • Re-teaching generated from your student data • Lesson Plan designed to support the students needs / results • Teacher as f______________ and not L___________ more than 15 / 20 minutes. • Students engaged ( hands on , doing, taking an active part in lesson) • PD ( taking part in what WE are doing – NOT just the part you want to do ) • If we change our way of teaching we will change our results that we have been getting. • We need to change our view point in general. ( We are not the only show in town. It shouldn’t be that the kids are lucky to be here. It should be that we are lucky to have your kids here.) • We have areas that are doing a great job of this in CT, ball and band for example. ( Until we show how much you care. They don’t care how much you know. )

The seven types of learning styles universally accepted • Visual or spatial learners • They learn best when information is in pictures, colors, models, and so on. • Aural or auditory-musical learners • They take in information best when it is presented using sound and music. • Verbal or linguistic learners • They take up information best when they can voice their ideas, and through writing and reading. • Physical or kinesthetic learners • They use their sense of touch via their body and hands, but also need to move frequently. • Logical or mathematical learners • They use reasoning and systems-based thinking, and work towards drawing patterns and making conclusions. • Social or interpersonal learners • They learn best when with one or more people, and need to communicate, listen, and share ideas. • Solitary or intrapersonal learners • They do best when they work alone to concentrate, and form their ideas.
