  1. Heads UpJanuary 2014 Update for the NHS Yorkshire and Humber Regional Leadership Council

  2. Regional News Health Coaching Health Coaching 11th March Barnsley This is a one day conference focussing on approaches that enable coaching conversations between patients and health professionals. This is an important new coaching discipline in coaching as well as in Organisational Development. I would be grateful if you would promote this event with senior leaders / clinicians and coaches with an interest in transforming the relationship between patients and health services. For further information please contact Amanda.allen@yh.hee.nhs.uk You can also connect with us on Twitter https://twitter.com/NHS_Coaching • In between the regular learning sets we have set up for the Innov8 Charter, we have set up the first of regular conference calls to keep activity and learning moving along. We have also created the first monthly update that has 3 aims, as a: • short easy reader about key developments, learning points, decisions, activities etc. coming out of the Charter work – so no need for formal minutes and a way to track progress • single point of reference about research, articles, news, insights etc. relevant to Innov8 – so no trawling through emails, folders to find things • space where E&D leads, different leaders, others connected, supported or funded by Innov8 to contribute their experience and knowledge to our work in a way that also increases their profile as activist and leaders • A copy is attached Innov8 Charter Update Amanda Allen has now joined the team permanently as Project Co-ordinator for the Coaching, Mentoring and OD workstreams. She has been working with us since June on a temporary basis and we are delighted to welcome her in. We are saying goodbye however to Sophia Khan who has contributed significantly to the GMTS and Diverse talent agenda over the last year – she leaves on 7 February; and Jo Valentine who leaves the team in March Team Changes

  3. National News • Edward Jenner the entry-level leadership programme is continuing to be popular with upwards of 20,000 people registered. The programme includes intensive training and development, placements in the UK, and healthcare leadership experiences overseas. Mary Seacole (Post Grad Certificate Level) Leadership Programme Intake 2 closed officially on Friday 10th January and nationally there have been 1253 applications completed; Yorkshire and the Humber had over 75 completed applications. Take-up of places has been limited and quite slow however more marketing will be done for Intake 3 in March. All places were funded by HEYH and around 48 have accepted to start in April.
