Salary Possibilities and work hours • starting salary range is $43,964 – $74,891. • Usually hired at the GL-7 or GL-9 level • Normally they are assigned to a 40 hour workweek (Monday- Friday) • Some people work 60 days and then are off for 30 days
Must successfully complete a 10 week Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers Basic Criminal Investigator Training. • Must also complete a 17 week special agent basic training program at the James J. Rowley Training Center outside Washington, D.C. • Failure to pass either training program on the first attempt will result in separation from the United States Secret Service Training United States Secret Service Training!
Education Requirements • Have either a four-year college degree or a combination of education and criminal investigative experience
Primary Mission • The Protective Mission- Protect the President, the Vice President, former presidents, visiting heads of states, and major presidential and vice presidential candidates, Congressmen and Foreign Dignitaries.
TheInvestigative Mission- Entails the Enforcement and investigation of varies crimes but not limited to counterfeiting, financial institution fraud, computer and telecommunications fraud and money laundering violations
Be a U.S. citizen Be at least 21 years of age and younger than 37 Possess a current valid drivers license Qualify for the GL-7 or GL-9 level Uncorrected vision no worse than 20/60 Excellent health and physical condition Pass a written examination Pass an applicant physical abilities test Qualify for a Top Secret clearance and a complete background investigation, to include in-depth interviews, drug screening, medical and polygraph examinations.
