Degrees offered • 23 undergraduate BCom and BAdmin programmes • 90 postgraduate degrees from BCom Hons up to doctoral level. • A postgraduate diploma in Forensic and Investigative Accounting, a postgraduate diploma in Integrated Reporting and a certificate in the Theory of Accountancy • Numerous short courses through CE at UP. Faculty specific admission requirements - 2012 Appropriate combinations of recognized NSC subjects for admission to degree studies Admission Point Score (APS) a minimum of 30 for BCom – (depending on the specific programme enrolled for) - and 28 for BAdmin Life Orientation is not included in the calculation of the APS Mathematics minimum level 4(50-59%) for BCom and Maths Literacy minimum level 4(50-59%) for BAdmin Afrikaans or English as home language or first additional language minimum level 5(60-69%) Accounting is not a prerequisite for admission to any BCom degree
Degree specific admission requirements – the selection placement model Candidates applying for the BCom(Accounting Sciences) BCom(Investment Management) BCom(Financial Management) and BCom(Law) Will be selected based on academic merit. The APS, mathematics and language will be considered in the selection process. The closing date for these selection programmes is 30 June. Students who comply with the minimum requirements will be placed on a waiting list and considered after the results of the admissions test is available.
