2. Discuss any obvious differences or similarities between the teachers’ starting strategies, and why you think this occurred • Teacher(A): • she welcomed to her students and asked about them. • She reviewed the grammar lesson with students before they got a grammar quiz. • She asked them about the title of the unit. • She was so friendly and kindly. • She smiled to her students. • Teacher(B): • She came to class and took the attendance directly. • She asked them to took out the last paper which they did it. • She was angry and so seriously. • Teacher(A) have a nice personality. 3.Summarize the finishing strategies that were used in the teachers’ lessons. Discuss the strategies (routine or varied), the manner and body language used and the children’s reactions. * The teacher started to countdown to make her students know the time is finished. It was a routine strategy. * She was in middle, friendly and seriously. * She looked around the class and cross her arms to managed them. * She clapped her hands when the student be noisy.
4. Discuss any obvious differences or similarities between the teachers’ finishing strategies, and why you think this occurred. Teacher (A): The teacher encouraged her students to study hard, and gave them a positive words. Such as, don't worry, it is easy and you can do it. Also, she smiled to them. Teacher(B): She always tell the students, that the other class are better than them and they got a higher marks than them. In my opinion, teacher A has a positive personality and she know how to encouraged her students by making them felt comfortable. That is why she make a nice class. However, teacher B used a negative strategy which was compared between other classes, and that made them feel upset. Also, itwas decreased their positive energy.
5. Suggest an alternative starting strategy for one of the lessons you observed and say why you would prefer to use this strategy. I recommend the teacher to use an interesting warming up at the begin of class like, give them the crayons, paper, and different materials to make a poster. This is because, when I observed this class I notice that students felt bored and sleepy, which make them wrote at their tables. I think they need to appears their abilities and makes a creative things. 6. Suggest an alternative finishing strategy for one of the lessons you observed and say why you would prefer to use this strategy. I recommend the teacher to use a simple ending of the lesson. For example, let her students to draw at the board a picture that show what they understand from the lesson. This is because, I observed that when the teacher asked them about the lesson they didn't understand it. But, if she followed this strategy, they will save the information in their mind and connected with their pictures.
Why do you think it is important to vary strategies to start and finish lessons? In my opinion, to vary strategies to start and finish lessons is very important. This is because many reasons. First, at the begin of class, students should see or do something that attract them to the lesson, and make them interest in class, love the lesson, and pay attention to the teacher. For instance, do an interesting activity which make them forget the bored and loved to learn more by an interesting way. Also, to develop their skills by doing something. Second, at the end of lesson students should see difference strategy too. This is because, to make them understand the lesson, and learn new things. Why do you think it is important to include set routines at the beginning and end of some lessons? This is because, some of teachers prefer to tell their students what is their strategies at the first semester, which they will use it in class. The goal of this way is to manage them and make them know what they will do in class.
What factors should you consider when deciding how to start and end lessons? The seating of students group, pairs, individual. The personality of students. How to make students interestsin class and forget the bored. How to make students interactswith teacher and involved with her.
