  2. Climate • Winters can be very cold, usually around 32 degrees Fahrenheit • Summers can be moderately warm. 20-30 degrees Celsius (68-89 degrees Fahrenheit) • Germany goes long periods of time with dry weather

  3. Germany’s Biomes Germany is mostly made up of the Temperate Deciduous Forests, but includes a small area of the Alpine biome

  4. Temperate Deciduous Forest • “Deciduous” means to fall off in a certain season. In a deciduous forest, the leaves fall off at the beginning of winter • Average temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit) • All four seasons

  5. Alpine Biome • “Alpine” originates from the Latin word “alpes”, meaning high mountains • Found at altitudes of 10,000 ft. or more • Winters are very cold( below freezing)

  6. Biotic Factors • Animals include the Red Squirrel, Pheasant, Wild Boars, and Deer • Plants includethe Beeches, Oaks, Ferns, and some deciduous trees

  7. Endangered Species • European Mink has declined in number due to habitat loss, hunting, pollution, and competition from the American Mink which the humans brought into the area • North Atlantic Right Whale has decrease in size because of humans overfishing them

  8. Extinct Species • Bavian pine voles went extinct because of deforestation. • Northern Bald Ibis went extinct in Europe because of insect pesticides poisoning the crops they ate

  9. Water Supply • Please do not throw or dump any waste into our rivers! We take great measure to make sure our water stay clean and is of the best quality.

All 81,471,834 of you shall be forced to find a new home temporarily in order for us to fix the problems you have created by: • Burned fossil fuels which has destroyed the ozone layer and polluted our air • Cut down our trees for personal use • Polluted our water with waste
