  2. Home Groups: 5 minutes • Review your notes together from the last viewing • Refresh your memories on what happened in the last chunk of film

  3. Last Chunk of Film • Pay attention to Edward’s actions/feelings • What lesson could we all be learning?

  4. Home Group Discussion: Page 174 • Answer questions 1-4 in your groups together • Does Edward’s action seem justified? • How does Edward appear to feel about Jim’s death? How does Kim appear to feel? • Why do you think Edward cuts his clothes off? • Most fairy tales have a lesson or a moral to teach. What do you think Kim wants her granddaughter to learn from her story?

Key Scene: Jigsaw • Assign experts to your group based on the cinematic techniques in the boxes at the bottom of page 174 • Note the places where you see particularly interesting or effective uses of your assigned cinematic element. • Flashback Scene • Besides the possibility of getting his hands, what else did Edward lose on this day? • How do the framing and music effect the scene? • What are the implications of Edward’s inability to touch people without hurting them? Aka, What conclusions can you draw about his inability to touch people?
