HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR ENTHUSIASM FOR DIA? • What contributes to our understanding of cultural and language issues? • How can we promote equity for our African-American students around closing the achievement gap? • How do you take care of yourself and still push for what you know is right for our students? • Is there shared accountability?

DIA May Meeting • May 17, 4:30-6:30 pm, Central Middle Commons • Presentations: • PowerPoint or chart with data= BE CREATIVE! • Examples from last year on website • Need to include: • Purposeof DIA program • Action Plan • Programs • Quantitative and/or qualitative data of programs • Goals for next year • Invitations to parents, students, staff (send flyer)

Important Information • End of Year online evaluations will be emailed • Complete by Monday, May 21st • ASAP/AAA/DIA Tags • In IC under the Pupil Personnel tab • Once ASAP/AAA always ASAP/AAA! • Please look over student tag sheet and send back to Mary Theriot with corrections and end dates (if necessary).

  7. Focus Areas: • Hiring, Recruiting, Retention, and Promotion (HRRP) • Assessment • Professional Learning (formerly Staff Development) • Curriculum • ASAP/AAA (African American acceleration program) • Relationship Building • Parent Involvement

DIA Focus Areas • Finalize Action Steps • Introductions and updates for parents/students • Will you need additional time outside of DIA meetings in 2012-2013 to accomplish work? • What resources will your group need? • Your group will be utilizing time during a 2012-2013 District DIA meeting (presenting and/or feedback) • Email Sara your action plans to be placed on DIA website.

  9. Breakout- DIA District Area • Finalize a structure for student transition in your area. Once ASAP/AAA always ASAP/AAA! • What is the current process to ensure students in DIA programs continue to receive support as they transfer from elementary to middle to high school? • Are the supports at elementary, middle and high in alignment? • How do we eliminate the gaps in the current transition process?

  10. Next meeting May 17 • May 17, 4:30-6:30 pm @ Central Middle Commons • Café style presentations • If not able to attend you will need to email Sara your PowerPoint presentation, which we will put on your table for attendees to view. • Questions?
