  4. “Conjugation back” • Listen carefully to the song “Conjugation Back” and write notes on what verb conjugation is.

What is verb conjugation? • Verb conjugation refers to the process of changing a verb form to provide information about the action being performed. • The form of the verb can give us some idea about who is performing the action, when the action is being performed, and the relation of the verb to other parts of the sentence. • Luiseats breakfast.   6. What is a infinitive stem vs. an infinitive ending? • The main form of the verb is called the infinitive. The infinitive consists of two parts: the ending and the stem. The ending is the last two letters. There are only three different endings: -ar, -er, and -ir. The stem is everything else, except the ending. HABLAR COMER VIVIR ending stem

Regular vs. Irregular verb • A regular verb is a verb whose conjugation follows a specific pattern. • Hablar ComerVivir • Hablocomo vivo • Hablas comesvives • Habla come vive • Hablamoscomemosvivimos • Hablá iscoméisvivís • Hablancomenvivimos • A verb whose conjugation follows a different pattern is called an irregular verb. Such as Dormir (to sleep): yoduermo and Jugar (to play): yojuego

Group Work • In your heterogeneous triad discuss the focus questions and in a piece of paper (construction/copy/loose leaf) demonstrate your understanding by providing your own responses or explanation of each concept discussed this far. Random groups will be selected to present. Ensure to provide examples to support your reasoning. • What is meant by “verb conjugation”? • What is an infinitive? • What is an infinitive stem? • What is an infinitive ending? • What is a regular verb? • What is an irregular verb?

  9. Share out Random groups will be selected to share out their focus questions responses. Questions to consider: • What is the basic difference between a regular verb and an irregular verb? • How does the number affect your choice of the conjugated verb to be used in a sentence? Each group will receive constructive criticism from their peers and teachers either to add on, to clarify misconceptions, and/or further the understanding of each concepts. Students not presenting will be completing the L part of the KWL chart.
