What impact did the project have on pupils’ literacy? • a clear appreciation that generic Literacy skills apply across curricular areas eg. report writing • experience of a wide variety of learning situations and inputs which enhance Literacy • practice in critical evaluation of source materials through reading, listening and discussion • confidence in writing and talking about issues in a variety of contexts.
What impact did the project have on staff? • greater awareness of the benefits of collaborative working and professional dialogue • a willingness to take calculated risks by experimenting with a variety of approaches to planning, learning and teaching • some ideas about how to de-clutter the curriculum by adopting a cross-cutting approach • commitment to promoting a shared standard and transferability of skills across the curriculum
