SIMS – Terrain Geo-Specificity 45+ Location, elevation, and networks, and all buildings are geo-specific. Vegetation is modeled to accurately reflect seasons and line of sight. 15 Location, elevation, and networks are geo-specific. Overhead imagery is draped on terrain and geo-typical buildings are set in geo-specific positions. Pertinent buildings are modeled accurately. 3 Time in days required to build 5km x 5 km terrain box Location, elevation, and networks are geo-specific. Overhead imagery is draped on terrain and geo-typical buildings are set in geo-specific positions. Location, elevation, and networks are geo-specific. All other data are geo-typical. 2 Location and elevation date are geo-specific. All other data are geo-typical 1 Geo-Typical terrain. Not geo-referenced Levels of Geo-Specificity
SIMS – Current Support • Collective Training • Provides means to test new unit TTP’s against a wide variety of mission sets • Provides units the opportunity to train IED-D tasks • Allows units to operate using current unit SOP’s in a simulated environment • Ensures the rapid replication of enemy TTP’s are incorporated into unit collective training RKG-3 Attack
SIMS – Current Support • Platform Training • CG TRADOC task to augment training methods in Army institutional training • CG MANSCEN task to identify SIMS products for inclustion into Army schools and centers • USAISC support for MICCC – 3 scenarios • JCOE IED Training Lanes support MI Captains’ Career Course
SIMS – Overhead Observables • Air Education and Training Command & T-COIC • Developing training methods to assist in identifying IED observables from overhead • Incorporates JSAF, OneSAF, and VBS2 to provide realistic means to train imagery analysts on tactical targets • Air frame is flown in OneSAF, targets are modeled in JSAF, and analysts operate camera in VBS2 • Researching means to incorporate ground targeting for overhead missile engagement
