PWE3 MPLS and Ethernet OAM Interworkingdraft-ietf-pwe3-mpls-eth-oam-iwk-02.txt Dinesh Mohan (Nortel) Nabil Bitar (Verizon) Philipe Niger (France Telecom) Simon Delord (Telstra) Ali Sajassi (Cisco) Ray Qiu (Huawei) March 2010 IETF 77, Anaheim, California , USA draft-ietf-pwe3-mpls-eth-oam-iwk-02.txt
Objectives • Define failure detection and notification procedures between Ethernet PWs and associated native Ethernet Acs • Defect State mapping between Ethernet PWs and associated Ethernet ACs • OAM message mapping between various Ethernet OAM mechanisms (e.g., 802.1ag) and PW OAM mechanisms (e.g., BFD) • Extensions to draft-ietf-pwe3-oam-msg-map-11.txt , "Pseudo Wire (PW) OAM Message Mapping", focusing on Ethernet PW services • Use same terminology and reference model for defect state mapping draft-ietf-pwe3-mpls-eth-oam-iwk-02.txt
Main Changes From version 00 to 01/02 • Ray Qiu (Huawei) joined as a co-author • Aligned defect state terminology with updated definitions in draft-ietf-pwe3-oam-msg-map-11 from earlier versions • Forward defect state changed to receive defect state • Reverse defect state changed to transmit defect state • Added CCM interface status TLV as a trigger to enter/exit AC receive defect state • Interface down enter receive defect state • Interface up exit receive defect state draft-ietf-pwe3-mpls-eth-oam-iwk-02.txt
Next Steps • Address Greg Mirsky’s comments on the mailing list • A couple edits needed • Issue an updated draft • WG last call? draft-ietf-pwe3-mpls-eth-oam-iwk-02.txt
