What is Credit Recovery? • Offers courses delivered in half-credit segments • Provides “credit recovery” for students who have not been successful in an academic course • Offers On-line curriculum • with individualized instruction, intervention and remediation
Who qualifies for Credit Recovery? • Any student within the Six District Educational Compact for the first year. • Any student who has failed a one-half credit- based portion of an academic course and who wishes to retake coursework for credit.
How do I register? • Registration and orientation on Tuesdays only, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. • Must register on site at Schnee Learning Center • Return the following forms prior to starting course • Student transcript • Signed “Intent to Participate Form” from principal/counselor at high school • Emergency Medical Form • Signed Code of Conduct signature page • $95 payment
How much does it cost? • $95 per half-credit ($190 for entire course) • Refunds • Full if withdrawn prior to the start of class • 50% if withdrawn after the first day of class • None after the second day of class
When and how do I attend? • Tutoring in Rooms 143 • Tuesday 3:30 to 5:30—registration on this day only • Thursday 3:30 to 5:30 • Courses must be completed in six weeks or less • Work online from a remote site • Computers with high-speed internet access
What Courses Are Offered? What happens when I finish? • Certificate of Completion • Issued by Schnee • Once course requirements met • Certificate with Schnee’s “official seal” presented to the principal/counselor at his/her high school • District school’s counselor is responsible to record credit on transcript
Can I lose credits or fees? • Yes! • If suspended from the Program for student code of conduct violations
