  2. Career and Technical Education The mission of NC’s Secondary Career and Technical Education program is to empower all students to be successful citizens, workers and leaders in a global economy.

  3. The Standard Course of Study • Assists local school systems in planning effective and comprehensive Career and Technical Education Programs. • Provides program area descriptions, major program objectives, course scope and sequences, and course descriptions.

  4. Common Elements • Career Clusters and Pathways • Course Offerings • Course Descriptions • Work-based Learning Opportunities • Advanced Studies

  5. Materials Provided for Review Course List Pathway Charts – Specific to the program area Course Descriptions for New Courses Program Area Survey Web Link, and Program Area Group Feedback Form

  6. Materials to Review Program Area Course List • NOTE: • Internships and Cooperative Education may be added as allowed by the Standard Course of Study. • Color Code: Black = No Change, Green = New Course/Number, Blue Italics = Name/Number Change, Red = Emerging Concepts
