2. Rationale for Grant Allocation • Leverage Grant Funding to Encourage Positive Behavior in our SITES program – Our major hope is that these funds will encourage greater participation by K-12 students, HSCC alumni, volunteers and chapters in the SITES program. We want to increase the number of students impacted by SITES in 2011, as well as increase the breadth of experiences offered to the students. • This grant allocation will be administered jointly by National BDPA VP-Member Services and BETF Executive Director.

American Honda Foundation$25,000 Grant Allocation • $17,500 – Local BDPA Chapters • Annual HSCC Coordinators Meeting ($2,400) • Scholarship Funding for HSCC Alumni ($2,500) • Elementary & Middle School Programs ($2,600) • High School Programs ($10,000) • Global IT Corps Program ($2,500) • HSCC Programs ($7,500) • $3,750 – National BDPA • $3,750 – BDPA Education and Technology Fdn

4. Local BDPA ChaptersAnnual HSCC Coordinator Meeting • Allocation: $2,400 / Awarded: 12/31/2010 • Meeting held Nov 2010 in Naples FL. Session designed to review past HSCC efforts and enact rules and policy for the 2011 HSCC program. • Up to $400 will be provided to reimburse any local chapter who sent representatives to the Annual HSCC Coordinators Meeting • If there were more than 6 chapters in attendance … then the $2,400 will be split evenly between all chapters in attendance. • If there were less than 6 chapters … then the max amount of $400 will be allocated and remaining funds moved to allocation for High School Programs.

5. Local BDPA ChaptersScholarship Funding for HSCC Alumni • Allocation: $2,500 / Awarded: 12/31/2010 • Support college education for HSCC Alumni who participated in 2010 National HSCC championships • Up to $500 will be provided to reimburse any local chapter who provided scholarships in 2010 out of their local treasury to students on their 2010 HSCC national team. • If there were more than 5 qualifying chapters … then the $2,500 will be split evenly between all qualifying chapters. • If there are less than 5 qualifying chapters … then the max amount of $500 will be allocated and remaining funds moved to allocation for High School Programs.

6. Local BDPA ChaptersSITES: Elementary or Middle School • Allocation: $2,600 / Awarded: 1Q-2011 NBOD Meeting • Support evolution of the SITES program for elementary and middle school students • Up to $2,600 will be provided to reward any local chapter providing volunteers for STEM-related activity on campus at elementary or middle school. • Chapters will be rewarded $100 per volunteer engaged in elementary or middle school programs. Volunteer must be a paid BDPA member in order to qualify. Each chapter will be rewarded for a maximum of 3 volunteers each. • This allocation is limited to the first 26 volunteers that are adequately documented by BDPA chapters. Documentation should include (a) chapter web page about program and volunteers and (b) letter from the school principal. • If there are less than 26 documented volunteers … then the remaining funds will be moved to allocation for High School Programs.

7. Local BDPA ChaptersSITES: IT Corps Program • Allocation: $2,500 / Awarded: 2Q-2011 NBOD Meeting • Support international global mission to broaden the experiences and professional preparation of the participating students through exchanges of technology and cultural knowledge that address community issues in the United States and in developing countries. • The award will be evenly divided by the number of chapters who have students participating in the program in 2011.

Local BDPA ChaptersSITES: High School Programs (1 of 2) • Allocation: $7,500 / Awarded: 3Q-2011 NBOD Meeting • Support evolution of the SITES program for high school students • At least $7,500 will be provided to reward chapters that provide STEM-related programs for high school students • Chapters will be rewarded points for Jan – Jun 2011 activity • Points will be totaled and the entire allocation will be pro-rated for all participating chapters. • Point total will be shared on a monthly basis with NBOD and BETF by the National BDPA VP-Member Services

9. Local BDPA ChaptersSITES: High School Programs (2 of 2)Points: Points will be allocated as follows for Jan – Jun 2011 activity • HS Student participates in Saturday ‘computer camp’ hosted by chapter (1 point per student for each week of participation; up to maximum of 5 points for a single student) • HSCC Alumni is a paid member of chapter as of 3/31/2011 (1 point per HSCC alumni) • HSCC Alumni publishes testimonial and photo on chapter, BDPA or BETF website (2 points per HSCC alumni) • HS Student registers for regional BDPA conference (3 points per student) • HSCC Alumni serves as a coach, instructor, mentor or other documented volunteer activity in Saturday ‘computer camp’ (5 points per HSCC alumni) • HS Student registers for National BDPA IT Showcase (10 points per student) • HS Student registers for National BDPA Youth Technology Camp in Chicago IL (10 points per student) • HS Student registers for National BDPA High School Computer Competition (10 points per student) • Local Chapter hosts regional BDPA HSCC and IT Showcase in their city (25 points per chapter) • Local Chapter sends roster of all past HSCC alumni, including name, high school and college to the National BDPA HSCC Coordinator (25 points per chapter)
