Energy Use in Transportation • Transportation sector uses 48% of energy in our county • SB County currently uses almost 200 million gallons of gas and diesel per year.

Silver Buckshot • Slash vehicle miles traveled • Reorient cities to use cars less • Alternatives to driving alone • More efficient vehicles • EVs using renewable electricity/PHEVs get 100 mpg+ on sustainable biodiesel
Our Plan Saves Money > Energy efficiency is less expensive than new generation > Electricity as a transportation fuel is much cheaper than petroleum > These result in large savings in our county: > $238 million by 2020 with low fossil fuel prices > $2.7 billion by 2020 with high fossil fuel prices
