A Mental Health Ambassador is……… -An ambassador is an intermediary, or messenger, a diplomatic agent with a mission -In CMH an ambassador can deliver a message to others who consider the field of mental health foreign territory -Your mission is to send a clear and consistent message to our community about mental health
Why Are We Here? This book will help us (Lead Ambassadors)….. Develop more effective and powerful oral and written communications Improve the effectiveness of discussions about Community Mental Health to elected officials, media or potential service partners Train staff about key messages
Why Are We Here? Today is about learning, but the beginning to sharing -Facilitate vs. Train -Provide Templates to assist -Utilize your local strengths
Why Are We Here? Your mission (and ambassadors)– if you’re willing to accept it: - Help build a consistent message about CMHSPs, the services they provide, and the people we serve to the general public (i.e., community leaders) This is the force, Luke! But then who’s the Dark Side?
