We are very proud of our peaceful reading areas in our classrooms where children can enjoy the magic of reading.
Children will bring their homework book home each Monday and it should be returned on Fridays. • Each week will consist of three activities.
1. Big Write • On Fridays we will do a Big write in school. • We will tell the children what the topic is on Mondays to give them all week to think about what to write. • Please could you talk about the subject at home during the week. • Children may make notes in their homework books if they wish but they DO NOT need to write down the whole story.
2. Tables and Spelling • Our weekly tables and spelling tests will also take place on Fridays. • They will also be given out on Mondays to learn through the week. • Please could you practice these at home for a little bit each night.
3. Research Question • There will be one question a week for children to research. • They may find this out by; asking an adult, from a book or a supervised internet search. • They can just write this down in a simple sentence in their books.
