The Underworld Basic Facts -The entrance of the underworld is at the end of the world -The Underworld is dark, gloomy, and foggy -Acheron was the river of sadness, Cocytus was the river of lamentation, Lethe was the river of forgetfulness, Phlegethon was the river of fire, while Styx was the river of hate.-The King of the Underworld is Hades and the queen is Persephone -The underworld was divided into two regions Erebus, the upper region and Tartarus, the lower region -The underworld is meant to be a corresponding “hell” Since it is a place Where people go when they die http://www.terminartors.com/files/artworks/4/7/2/47270/Dax_Elsa-The_Asphodel_Fields.jpg
Interesting People of the Underworld Hades -An Olympian god -God of the dead -He had a pet called Cerberus, a multi-headed dog who guarded the gates of the underworld Persephone -Goddess of fertility -She was carried away by Hades, to his realm -Bound to having to spend half the year in the underworld Sisyphos -Tried to cheat death -Was punished by having to endlessly roll a massive boulder up a hill, only to see it roll down again
