SUMMER ACTIVITIES • ATTENDANCE AT ALL SUMMER ACTIVITIES SHALL BE VOLUNTARY
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS • During the volleyball season, a school shall not permit a student who is not a member of the high school’s team, an adult, a college student, or alumni to participate in any practice session, drill, scrimmage, or match in which a school team is involved. • Contests shall not be held with any team, which does not belong to the NSAA, or to its own state high school association.
Match Limits • 16 Matches • 5 Tournaments (includes conference) • 30 Competition Points • Competition Points Dual– 1 point Triangular– 2 points 4-team, one-day, 2 match max – 2 points 4-team round robin – 3 points 1-day tournament 4+ teams – 3 points 2 or 3 day tournaments – 4 points
Triangular = One match A Triangular is two matches in one session. 2 varsity 1 Varsity & 1 lower level 2 Lower Level No student may participate in more than two matches per day.
Varsity MATCHES • 2-of-3 set format • All sets to 25 (no cap) • 3-of-5 set format • First team to win 3 sets shall be the winner. First four sets to 25 point. If needed, 5th and deciding game to 15 points. Must win by 2 points.
Subdistrict/district competition All Matches 3-of-5 sets 4 team – played on one day 5 team – played two days 6 team – played in three days A request for modification must be approved through the NSAA with all participating schools agreeing to the change in format.
