  2. Background • Pre-2005/2005 we were four independent DCC libraries: Charity School of Nursing City Park Slidell Library West Bank

  3. Background – cont. • Some functions were centralized: Acquisitions (Financially independent) Cataloging • Most functions were individualized: Collection Development Reference Library Tours

  4. Background – cont. • Holdings: Charity School of Nursing – 3 thousand titles City Park – 150,000 titles Slidell – 5,000 titles West Bank – 20,000 titles

  5. Pre-2005/2005 Electronic Resources for 4 DCC Libraries • 11 DCC-Purchased Databases • Access to 63 Databases via LOUIS Membership • ca. 27,000 netLibrary e-books • Ezproxy moved to Baton Rouge Fall 2005

  6. Pre-2005/2005 Services • Library Tours • ILL • Print Reserves • Access to Web Forms for Ref., ILL, Reserve, and Materials Requests

  7. 2006 Resources • City Park & Slidell Libraries – 0 print resources • Creation of the first Blackboard Library Course • Program Accreditation Reviews for Veterinarian Technology & Funeral Services

  8. 2006 – Resources –cont. • 10 databases w/grant – Gale Virtual Reference, Oxford Reference Online, Naxos…for 5 years • + 74 Existing databases • 30,000 additional ebooks from ebrary, Academic Collection • 2006 (2 offices)

  9. 2006 -- Services • QuestionPoint • Began Bibliographic Instruction via Bb • Library Web Site

  10. 2007 Resources • May 2007 – Move into 5800 sq. ft. of temporary Library Space • Proxy server moved back to City Park Campus • Summer: Remediation of 92,000 volumes began • Fall: SACs

  12. Bb Library Tab 2008 Remediated Books moved to Bldg. 9 and 3 Trailers 2010 Bldg. 9 demolition is planned; 70,000 books moved to 3 trailers Libraries are consolidated under one Dean 2008- 2011 Resources
