  6. Seed production • Basis of assessment: • Comparison of yearly production • Requirement as projected in National Seed Plan (NSP) 2005 • SRR • Self pollinated: 25% • Cross-pollinated: 35% • HYV’s: 100%

  7. Seed production • Assessment based on production of certified & quality seeds • Excludes availability of farm saved seed • Nearly 75 % seed used in India is farm saved • Therefore, total availability is actually higher
