Beginning of Day BEFORE THE BELL • Boy/Girl Lines • Stand away from wall and papers on wall • Enter the room when invited by teacher • Student greeter & teacher will welcome you ENTERING THE ROOM • Move to desk to unpack • Unpack backpacks at desk, sit books, papers, and supplies on desk • Notes from home on top of planner • Then begin morning work MORNING WORK • Check attendance on Smartboard 1 at a time • Write initials on lunchcount chart, 1 at a time • Hang up coat & backpack, 4 at a time. Place lunch in cubby • File homework folder & take home folder, 1 at a time • If no papers on desk from teacher, then write in journal
During the Day • Drinks in the room-as needed when no one speaking • Hall drinking fountain – use one closest to our room • Bathroom breaks-3 per day, raise hand & cross fingers, place pass on desk • Room supplies – as needed when no one speaking • Teacher needs attention-Gimme Five • Freeze and raise your hand • Classroom leveled library – • browse in your level, return to correct box
Lessons/Group Work • Group Work • Getting papers • Turning in papers – • Lessons • Listen while teaching/talking • Raise hand with question or write it down on post-it note • Smartboard-use with teacher • iPad-use with teacher • Computers
Lunch • Line leader will call even/odd student numbers when ready • Line up with money and/or lunch • Sanitize hand • Restroom break after lunch • If you pull a stick in the lunchroom, be able to explain why on your action plan
Recess If you take equipment out, please return it to the same place. Swing but no twisting Line up when teacher blows the whistle Walk your consequence before recess time Incomplete work will be completed during recess
End of Day • Wipe off desk with wet paper towel • Straighten inside of desk • Set out 2 pencils for sharpening, set notebook paper and journal on desk for morning work • Pick up homework folder and backpack, take to desk to pack up, 4 at a time • Teacher will dismiss, not the bell
Desk • Keep tidy and organized with papers in folder on top of books • Pencil box holds pencils, markers or crayons, erasers • You are welcome to use my supplies, just return when finished • Turn in papers where they belong, not on my desk

Emergency Procedures • Storms • Teacher will dismiss • Walk out to hallway, sit on floor with head covered • Fire • Teacher will dismiss • Walk out side door, single file, no talking • Line up on edge of blacktop facing away from school • Stranger Danger • Teacher will dismiss • Move to Quiet Room, sit very still • Teacher will close all curtains • Student is hurt • Send a friend to tell teacher unless you can
Substitute Procedures • Follow classroom procedures • Follow School Rules • Make yourself proud and teacher Absent Procedure • Teacher will prepare a missed work list, you have 3 days to complete • Student must ask for missed work
Consequences: -teacher uses “Whisper Technique” if a behavior stick needs to be pulled • 1 stick – 5 minutes walking during recess • 2 sticks – 10 minutes walking during recess • 3 sticks • 15 minutes walking during recess • Isolated lunch • Parent note/action plan • 4 sticks • Same as 3 sticks plus call home • 5 sticks – Office referral; In school suspension
Awards • Report Cards • A Honor Roll • B Honor Roll • Behavior • Nearly Perfect Party – 0-2 sticks during the 9 weeks • Treasure Chest – 0-2 sticks per week • Attendance – every 9 weeks • 1st in line for lunch, 1 week • AR – see chart in classroom • 5 Class compliments per week – 30 free minutes in lab • Birthdays – “Pirate for the Day”, goodie bag, office gift, class picture • Student of the Month-$5.00 savings certificate at Community Bank in Clinton; picture in hall • 15 minutes free time on classroom computers or iPad, when teacher not instructing
