Inserting a Slide from Another Presentation • Open a new presentation in PowerPoint and add the first four slides using the instructions on pages PPT 420 – PPT 425 • With Slide 4 selected and your Data Disk in drive A, click Insert on the menu bar and then point to Slides from Files • Click Slides from Files • If necessary, when the Slide Finder dialog box is displayed, click the Find Presentation tab
Inserting a Slide from Another Presentation • Click the Browse button • Click the Look in box arrow and then click 3½ Floppy (A:) • Click Reunion Budget in the list. Click the Open button in the Browse dialog box • Click the Open button in the Browse dialog box
Inserting a Slide from Another Presentation • When the Slide Finder dialog box is visible again, click the Slide 2 image, Sample Reunion Budget, in the Select slides area • Click the Insert button • Click the Close button in the Slide Finder dialog box
Inserting an AutoShape • Click the Slide 2 slide thumbnail in the tabs pane • Click the AutoShapes button on the Drawing toolbar, point to Stars and Banners, and then point to 5-Point Star (row 1, column 4) on the Stars and Banners submenu • Click 5-Point Star • Point to the center of the white space in the lower-right corner of the slide, to the right of the word, Activities • Click the white space area of the slide
Adding Text to an AutoShape • With the AutoShape selected, type Start Planning and then press the ENTER key • On the next line, type Early and then press the ENTER key • On the next line, type for and then press the ENTER key • On the next line, type Success to complete the entry • Right-click the AutoShape and then click Format AutoShape on the shortcut menu
Adding Text to an AutoShape • Click the Text Box tab in the Format AutoShape dialog box • Click Resize AutoShape to fit text • Click the OK button • If necessary, click the AutoShape border and drag the object so it is centered in the white space in the lower-right corner of the slide
Applying an AutoShape Entrance Animation Effect • With the AutoShape selected, click Slide Show on the menu bar, click Custom Animation, and then click the Add Effect button in the Custom Animation task pane • Point to Entrance and then click Box on the Entrance menu • Click the Start box arrow and then click After Previous on the Start menu • Click the Speed box arrow and then click Slow
Applying a Motion Path Animation Effect to an AutoShape • With the AutoShape selected, click the Add Effect button in the Custom Animation task pane • Point to Motion Paths and then point to More Motion Paths on the Motion Paths submenu • Click More Motion Paths • When the Add Motion Path dialog box is displayed, click Circle in the Basic category
Applying a Motion Path Animation Effect to an AutoShape • Click the OK button • Click the Start box arrow in the Custom Animation task pane and then click After Previous • Click the Speed box arrow and then click Very Slow • Click the Close button in the Custom Animation task pane
Formatting AutoShape Text • Select the AutoShape text. Click the Font box arrow on the Formatting toolbar and then click Comic Sans MS • Click the Font Size box arrow on the Formatting toolbar and then click 20 • Click the Bold button on the Formatting toolbar • Click the slide in an area other than the AutoShape or placeholders
Inserting a Venn Diagram • Click the Slide 1 slide thumbnail in the tabs pane • Click the New Slide button on the Formatting toolbar to insert a new slide • Click Format on the menu bar and then click Slide Layout • When the Slide Layout task pane is displayed, point to the Content slide layout in the Content Layouts area. Click the Content slide layout • Click the Content slide layout
Inserting a Venn Diagram • Click the Close button in the Slide Layout task pane • Point to the Insert Diagram or Organization Chart button in the content placeholder • Click the Insert Diagram or Organization Chart button • When the Diagram Gallery dialog box is displayed, click the Venn Diagram diagram type • Click the OK button
Changing the Venn Diagram Size • Right-click the slide background in the drawing area and then point to Format Diagram on the shortcut menu • Click Format Diagram • If necessary, when the Format Diagram dialog box is displayed, click the Size tab • Click and hold down the Height box up arrow in the Scale area until 125 % is displayed
Changing the Venn Diagram Size • Click the OK button • Click the Layout button on the Diagram toolbar and then point to Fit Diagram to Contents • Click Fit Diagram to Contents • Click the border of the diagram and then drag the border so the top, left, and right borders align with the edges of the slide
Adding Text to the Venn Diagram Shapes • Click the words, Click to add text, above the top shape • Type Communicating as the new text • Click the words, Click to add text, to the left of the left shape
Adding Text to the Venn Diagram Shapes • Type Managing as the new text • Click the words, Click to add text, to the right of the right shape • Type Planning as the new text
Formatting the Venn Diagram Text Using the Format Painter • If necessary, click the right Venn diagram text box that contains the word, Planning • Click Edit on the menu bar and then click Select All • Right-click the text and then click Font on the shortcut menu • When the Font dialog box is displayed, scroll up to and then click Comic Sans MS in the Font list • Click Bold in the Font style list
Formatting the Venn Diagram Text Using the Format Painter • Click 32 in the Size list • Click the Color box arrow and then click the color green (row 1, column 4) • Click the OK button • Click anywhere on the slide other than the text or Venn diagram circles • Click the word, Planning, to select it
Formatting the Venn Diagram Text Using the Format Painter • Click the Format Painter button on the Standard toolbar • Position the mouse pointer on top of the text for the left Venn diagram element, Managing • Click the text, Managing • With the word, Managing, selected, click the Format Painter button on the Standard toolbar • Click the text, Communicating
Formatting the Venn Diagram • Click the AutoFormat button on the Diagram toolbar • When the Diagram Style Gallery dialog box is displayed, click Primary Colors in the Select a Diagram Style list • Click the OK button • Click the Close button on the Diagram toolbar
Creating a Self-Running Presentation • Click Slide Show on the menu bar and then point to Set Up Show • Click Set Up Show • Click Browsed at kiosk (full screen) in the Show type area • Click the OK button
Adding an Animation Scheme • Click Slide Show on the menu bar and then click Animation Schemes • Scroll to and then click Float in the Exciting category • Click the Apply to All Slides button • Click the Close button on the Slide Design task pane title bar
Setting Slide Show Timing Manually for Slide 1 • Click the Slide Sorter View button • Right-click Slide 1 and then point to Slide Transition • Click Slide Transition on the shortcut menu • Click Automatically after in the Advance slide area • Click and hold down the mouse button on the Automatically after box up arrow until 00:30 is displayed and click the Play button
Setting Slide Show Timings Manually for the Remaining Slides • Click the Slide 2 slide thumbnail, press and hold down the SHIFT key, and then click Slide 5. Click Automatically after in the Advance slide area in the Slide Transition task pane. Click and hold down the Automatically after box up arrow until 00:45 is displayed • Click the Slide 6 slide thumbnail. Click Automatically after in the Advance slide area in the Slide Transition task pane. Click and hold down the Automatically after box up arrow until 01:30 is displayed • Click the Play button • Click the Close button on the Slide Transition task pane title bar

Starting the Self-Running Presentation • Click the Slide 1 slide thumbnail in the tabs pane and then click the Slide Show from current slide button • As each slide is displayed automatically, review the information • When Slide 1 is displayed again, press the ESC key to stop the presentation
