Born and raised in Vancouver Graduated from New York University with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology (2000) Graduated with a Master’s Degree in Technology, Curriculum, and Instruction (2009) Completed Professional Certification program (2009) 10th year of teaching…WOW! Nuts and Bolts for Room 10 • Homework • Daily (no more than 35 minutes) • 20 minutes of Reading • Additional math, grammar, or blog assignment • To be returned the next day unless extenuating circumstance (please send note/email) • Dismissal • Children who ride the school bus- out the back door by the black gate • YMCA- through the school to the cafeteria • Parent Pick Up- ALL IN FRONT (change from last year) • Snack • After morning recess- something small and healthy (whole grains, fruit, cheese, etc.) Please send something with your child. I will have a back- up stash for students who do not have their own snack. I accept any and all donations! • Birthdays • Usually celebrated just before lunch with treats distributed during lunch • We have students with allergies (dairy, wheat) • Not mandatory

Questions and Closing • Please write a letter to your child in their Parent Journal. Leave the journal on their desk for them to read this Friday, when they will have the chance to respond. • Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for your child’s second grade experience.
