OBJECTIVES Centralized services for standardized data publication (National GBIF Node), offered to all Swiss institutions gathering biodiversity informations (Museums, Swiss National Records Centers) Multilingual (F/D/I/E) approach for key concepts (Geography, Field- and identification methods, Ontogeny, Stratigraphy and others), allowing: • a standardized publication at international level (data portal GBIF.org) • multilingual queries and display at national level (data portal GBIF.ch) Considered domains: Zoology, Botany, Palaeontology

  3. LOGISTICS Financial means 2004 – 2011 * 1’150’000 € (2004) * 1’533’000 € (2011) but for us nothing has changed

  16. OBJECTIVES, LONG TERM Vision The 45 million specimenshoused in Swissmuseums are digitized and accessible via GBIF. Swissauthorities in charge of culture and research and private sponsors support • the management and extension of collections, withreferencespecimensgatheredwithin all national surveys • the research in systematicsrequired for theirscientificvalorization • study programs necessary to ensure the continuity of thisambitious initiative
