Dust Suppression • Why needed: • airborne coal dust, when mixed with gas and in the presence of a naked flame, is very dangerous and causes an explosion. • What is needed: • methods of using the plentiful supply of water available in a coal mine to suppress the dust • products to control, filter, measure and (most importantly) spray, water to supress the dust to prevent it becoming airborne • Essential Dust Suppression Requirements: • CONTROL - FILTER - SPRAY • Where located: • conveyor belt line transfer points • roadway headings • coal faces • roof support systems

The Pump which is driven by the ‘load on belt’ is totally independent of any electrical power and solenoid. Such systems are available in Power Plant and other units of ‘NTPC’.

  13. .hmc. • Systems avoid over wetting of belts, which causes belt slipping & excess maintenance in all stage. • Auto activation of systems (switch on/off) • 100% fail-proof (mechanical activation) on extra manpower required • Operates at belt speed from 100 FT/MIN to 750 FT/MIN.(1mtr per sec) • No extra power supply is needed to operate the system.
