Step by Step • Step 1:Pick out a sample of black-and-white newspaper print. It should have both light and dark areas. • Step 2: Slip the sample under the clips on the microscope and adjust the focus. No blurry vision here… • Step 3: Move the strip around from the lighter to darker areas. You will see a difference! Fill in you hand out! • Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 with a glossy black-and white image. Compare the newspaper picture with the glossy one. Fill in your hand out!
Step by Step continued… • Step 5: Repeat steps 1-3 with a sample of colored picture from a newspaper showing several colors. Make sure it has at least one primary color in it and one secondary color in it. Look at your hand out! • Step 6: Repeat steps 1-3 with a colored picture from a glossy magazine. Is it different from a newspaper clipping? Or not? Fill in your hand out! • Finish Early? Ask for the Challenge Activity!
