OAI: Verbreitung • Weltweit große Bibliotheken, Sammlungen haben OAI implementiert • Meist Data Provider (LoC 3 Sammlungen, ArXiv) • Sehr wenige Service Provider bisher (Arc, Kepler, VT Explorer) • Deutschland: • Data Provider: HU Berlin, Dresden, Duisburg, BST BaWü, BIS Oldenburg, Physnet • Service Provider: HU Berlin, Dresden, Physnet, DINI-OAI • SFX / Metalib von ExLibris

  3. OAI Verbreitung • Förderung von OAI Anwendungen Andrew W. Mellon Foundation • Carl Lagoze (Cornell): NSF-Förderung für Protokollentwicklung • Nächste Version Jan/ Feb. 2002 fertig • Verbreitung auf Workshops USA Feb./März und Europa: Pisa, Mai • Weitere Entwicklungen erfolgen in Communities • Europäische Union: innerhalb von DL-Projekten • DFG in den DL Projekten

OAI und DINI • DINI-Appel Dez. 2000 • Ziel: Aktivitäten in D anregen • Communities fördern • Nutzung der Vorteile des Protokolls • Bsp.: Verteilte Suche (statt TheO) • Probleme lösen • Setdefinitionen (ID, Setbenennungen) • Im Prinzip geklärt, DNB + formale Kategorien, lokale Umsetzungen fehlen noch. • Archiv-ID‘s: kein Problem (ggf. mit URNs koppeln)
