Since last Meeting (1) • Survey of staff using De montfort survey form – 249 responses = c.10% of staff • Incentives given to staff – 5 home energy monitors • Presentation given at a National seminar organised by Sustainable energy Ireland (4th September 2009) • 2nd National Users club meeting organised for 26th November 2009
Since last Meeting (2) • 73 public buildings audited using national DEC software (all <1000m2) (see slide 5) • Results of these audits used for an application to national funding programme, 11 buildings have had insulation upgrades and heating upgrades as a result of this application (see table on next slide)
Improvements in DISPLAY rating as a result of insulation and heating upgrades
Av. 181 Kwh/m2/year • Target 122 Kwh/m2/year (33% reduction) • Previously a number of campaigns were rolled out. • New programme forms part of CCS and Energy Map. • Working with Service providers
CYBER Campaign • Based around reducing energy use in non-occupancy hours • >50% energy used in public buildings while non-occupied • Joint campaign by Energia and CCC • Launched October ‘09 • Based on a League table system • Updated 6 monthly.
Contd… • In-house training by Energia • Lunchtime seminars • Partnership meetings (energy on every agenda) • Area Engineers meetings • Case Studies in each division • All specific to CCC so that all staff can relate to it. • One person made responsible for energy in every building. (energy champions)
