Ask at our Information Desk! • Traditional academic publishing is no longer viable • E-publishing is quick and inexpensive • Reducing barriers to publication gives a voice to researchers whose work lacks a commercial audience • Allows global dissemination of research without barriers of cost or limited distributionnetworks

Ask at our Information Desk! • ANU E Press was established in 2003 and is recognised as the leader in Australian scholarly e-publishing • ANU E Press was officially launch in May 2004 • ANU E Press produces fully peer-reviewed research publications and is recognisedby DIISRTE as a commercial publisher, enabling ANU E Pressauthors to gain full recognition under the Higher Education Research Data Collection scheme.

Open access = high readership • In 2011, the most downloaded ebook was “Aboriginal Placenames‘with over 100,000 total downloads. • All ANU E Press titles are lodged with Google, Amazon.com, National Library of Australia, University Library Catalogues (MARC records), Thomson Reuters book citation index, etc., ensuring high level of access. • Countless private and public organisations and NGOs link to ANU E Press titles, and over 40 institutions catalogue all titles immediately upon publication.

  6. Web and PoD Statistics Web Stats The majority of ANU E Press’ readers come from Australia (56.56%), with readers from the United States running a distant second (10.60%). ANU E Press readers come from all over the globe, including Europe, Asia and the Pacific. POD Stats 88% of our customers are from Australia.

  7. Editorial Process • Around 25 Editorial Boards located in the ANU • Editorial Boards evaluate proposals, organise peer review and make decisions on what to publish

Production • Publish in PDF, ePub, mobi and ‘view online’ formats • Incorporate multimedia (audio, video and other additional materials: datasets, music scores, etc.) • Print-on-demand paperbacks available from the online shopping cart • Publish over 50 titles per year • Published over 390 titles to date
