OverviewEnlisted to Medical Degree Preparatory Program (EMDP2) Partnership between the Uniformed Services University (USU) and the Armed Services to provide a new opportunity for highly-motivated, academically promising enlisted service members to complete the necessary coursework to qualify for medical school application Supports USU strategic objective to increase matriculation from the Armed Services as a significant initiative for student diversity Designed to select candidates who demonstrate integrity, are passionate about service in harm’s way, and are dedicated to becoming future clinicians, leaders and scholars of the nation’s medical force First cohort of the program is expected to start in academic year 2014

Program Description • 24-month, full-time, in-service, academic program • Permanent Change of Station to USU (Bethesda, MD) • Full-time student • No other military duties except for service-related training, testing, etc. • Upon completion of the program, the successful student will be competitive for acceptance to U.S. medical schools • Service members commissioned after completion of program and acceptance into medical school • Appointment to Grade O-1 in respective service

Minimum Qualification Requirements • Enlisted on Active Duty • No restrictions on Military Occupational Specialty • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited academic institution • 3.2 on a 4.0 scale • No restrictions on major or academic discipline • Meet Service requirements for commission • US citizen • Moral character • Each Service will have specific qualification requirements

Air Force Application Guidelines(published Sep 2013) • < 33 years old as of 30 June 2014 • US citizen • Worldwide qualified • Active duty • Minimum 36 months and maximum 10 years Active Federal Service (AFS) by 30 Sep 2013 • ACT 28 or SAT 1800 (minimum 600 each category) • > 75 of Air Force Qualification Test (AFQT) • Recommended by chain of command up to squadron commander • No court martial convictions • Current security clearance • Active Duty Service Commitment (ADSC) is 36 months • Selectees who fail to complete program return to previous AF specialty
