  4. Tiananmen Square Background: Student’s stood around this part of Beijing for seven weeks until their democratic demands were met. • Chinese killed many • Attacked the square with tanks • Use brute force • Justified by: “Social chaos”

  6. Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA) • Terrorist group-looking for independence • Killed many to gain • Thousands in Spanish jails • Independence from the Greater Basque Country • Made many treaties, broke all of them.

  7. Lashkar-e-Taiba • Only terrorists labeled “terrorist” by every country • “Army of the Good” • Destroy Indian republic • Killed many Indian leaders • Take back Muslim Territory • Fight for the weak; Justify Leader:(Hafiz Muhammad Saeed)

  8. Al-Qaeda • Islam organization • Cause of September, 11. • Declined with fall of leaders. • Kill many people to achieve power • Use many suicide attacks

  9. Kurdistan Workers' Party • Terrorist group in Turkey • Uses force against anyone • Assassinate Turkish leaders • Leaders constantly jailed • Bombed civilian towns
