  2. Plot In a short story, novel, play, or narrative poem the plot is a series of events always in a specific order.

  3. Climax Rising Action Falling Action Plot Exposition Resolution

  4. Exposition In a short story, novel, play, or narrative poem The exposition is the introduction of characters, setting, and problem.

  5. The Characters The exposition can tell the reader what the character looks like, their backstory, and personality. The exposition can leave most of the characters background a mystery or tell them everything about a character. The exposition can tell you the smallest detail about a character.

  6. Setting The exposition will also tell the reader the setting which includes time, place, circumstance, and other surrounding details.

  7. Rising Action The rising action is the suspense that builds up to the climax. These are the three main events that make the problem worse or harder to deal with.

  8. Climax The climax is the turning point plot marking high emotional intensity. Also called the scissor moment.

  9. Falling Action The falling action are the events following the climax. This is where the characters deal with the outcome of the climax.

  10. Resolution The resolution is the final outcome. This is where we leave the characters and discover what their life looks like now.

Wizard of Oz Dorothy and the others find out the Wizard of Oz is just a normal man. Beauty and the Beast Everyone returns back to their human state. Aladdin Jafar is banished to the Cave of Wonders. Cinderella A fairy godmother appears and prepares Cinderella for the ball. Tangled Rapunzel meets her real mother and father. Despicable Me Gru is a villain. Brave Merida and her mother are last seen enjoying each others favorite activity. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White eats a poisonous apple and falls into a deep sleep. Monsters Inc. Boo returns to the human world. The Lion King Simba defeats Scar. The Hunger Games KatnissEverdeen volunteers to go in her sisters place as a tribute. Star Wars A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. Sleeping Beauty When Aurora pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep. Harry Potter 1 Harry Potter talks to Dumbledore after battling Quirrel/Voldemort. Alice in Wonderland Alice falls down a rabbit hole. Beauty and the Beast Beast used to be a prince and was cursed. Star Wars Luke Skywalker and the rebels find a vulnerable section in Darth Vader's Death Star. Lilo and Stitch The aliens let Stitch stay with Lilo.
