  2. Ideology • The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

  3. Main Policy Positions • ■Fair taxes that put money back in your pocket. • ■A fair chance for every child. • ■A fair future, creating jobs by making Britain greener. • ■A fair deal for you from politicians.

  4. Liberal Democrat Party Supporters • The Liberal Democrats place emphasis on helping those who are not so well off in terms of economic status. Hence, the Working class and the lower middle class seem to support this party. The party also puts a lot of emphasis on health care and social welfare projects, which in turn gets them the support of the poor population in the UK.

  5. Liberal Democrat Party Leader • Nick Clegg is the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party of UK. He assumed office 2nd March 2007. Clegg is also the Deputy Prime Minister of the UK.
