  2. About CNNC • China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is a large state-owned enterprise with over 100 subsidiaries. • Three leading industries: nuclear power, nuclear fuel cycle and application of nuclear science and technology.

  4. Achievements In Nuclear Power • 3 nuclear power bases • 9 operational units • 52.3TWh in 2005.

  5. A target: 40GWe by 2020 To build 2-3 units of 1000MWe each year in the next 15 years.

  6. Strategies • Starting from existing foundation and technology • Introducing advanced technologies from other countries • Accelerating R&D and application of new technologies

  7. Unit 3 and 4 in Qinshan II Duplication Projects Projects of Qinshan II and Ling’ao II have obtained the approval from the Chinese government

  8. Sanmen Site International Bidding Building Sanmen NPP in Zhejiang and Yangjiang NPP in Guangdong by introducing Generation III technology through international bidding.

  14. Setting up specified nuclear power companies • Two AE companies have been established. • Preparing for a nuclear power service company.

  15. Human resources • The rapid development of nuclear power calls for more nuclear power professionals • Working with universities to co-training engineers • Setting up trainees’ centers for fresh graduates
