The Pros & Cons of Issuing CAD Information…What about Extranets? • Common problems faced communicating via Extranets? • Extranets should only be used for issued documents & not WIP • EDMS Systems should be used for WIP documents • IT Issues: Company firewall settings & IT security • Extranets cannot deal with complex CAD Files & dependant files • Multiple downloads of a document…version control? • Extranets viewed as final location for documents in workflow
