  2. Direct Observation • Counting all the members of the Population • Example: Counting all the ants on the Aunt hill!

  3. Indirect Observation • To observe signs of an organism • Example: Countingelephants with out any being around!

  4. Sampling • Estimate the number on reasonable assumptions. • Example: Counted trees and then compared them to all the other trees!!

  5. Mark-And-Recapture • Using a mathematical formula to determine the population of an animal. • Example: When you mark an animal and let it free. Catch them and see which ones are marked.
