  2. DIRECT OBSERVATION.. • If you are counting species in a group, you count them individually so it’s accurate.

  3. Indirect observation Count the number of animals by looking at the traces left.

  4. Sampling • Make An Estimate based on assumptions in the environment.

  5. Mark And Recapture Studies • You capture the animals, then you mark them, release and come back to see how many are there.
