5. How to participate (Pilot Centres) • H/HS Management • Head of Department • N/R Coordinator • H/HS Coordinator should sign the agreement for participation

6. The trial has two arms (two groups) Immediate Start = Intervention group • Begins “the WHO-HPH recognition process” immediately within 2 months Delayed Start = Control group • Begins after 12-14 months 44-50 Departments in each group

7. How to participate (Pilot Centres) • The trial includes hospital departments (not the whole hospital) • Comparisons would be made between the departments • Immediate Start versusDelayed Start

8. How to participate (Pilot Centres) • Each hospital/HS can recruit one department, only • Except if HS consists of different sites (ex hospitals, clinics) that are clearly separated regarding staff, patients groups, scope of activities, and provided treatment/care

9. How to participate (Pilot Centres) All kinds of clinical departments can participate • Except paediatric, palliative or nursing homes as WHO-HPH Standards do not cover these • From university and non-university hospitals
