  2. Welcome Thankyou all for attendingthisyear HPH Coordinator Workshop. Today, wewilldiscuss the possibilities and challengesmet by the National/Regional HPH Networks. Margareta Kristensson (Swedish HPH Coordinator), Thor Bern Jensen (Technical Officer HPH Secretariat)

  5. Member and Network Update 957 member Hospitals and Health Services 34 N/R HPH Network Asia (4 N. & 1 R. Netw) + 6 count. Indv. memb. Australia (1 R. Netw) + 4 Indv. memb. Europe (17 N., 6 + 1 R. Netw) + 11 count. Indvmemb. North Americas (4 R. Netw) + 2 indvmemb. South Americas and Africa No Networks 2 Indvmembers (Nigeria & Brasil)

  7. New networks in the process National Network in Japan Regional Network in Hong Kong From India (Official delegation from AndraPradesh – Min Level) SEEHN (South-eastern European Health Network ) – 8 new countries. Pilot project with one HPH hospital and a few Health Services in each country.

Ceassing and suspended netw 2 Regional Networks in Italyaresuspended (on ownrequest) The German & Swiss Network willbe re-organised(Klaus Hüllemannn & Nils Undritz) 2Networks have decided to split up (Tuscany(Ita)) – the secretariat have beguncontactingeachmember to becomeindividualmembers – eventually new network!

Reactions & solutions Financially – Save money, not spend money Re-organisation – See the possibilities, a new start invites for participate in shaping the organisation New management – Low fee, only need a little persuasion/ few arguments Coord. stops – For the existing coord. it is important to start out simple, engage a new coord. Missing benefits – Coord & Sec work on articulating benefits (higher level of service) Shift in focus (other HP focus) – difficult

  12. Re-organised Networks Scotland ceassed as a Network, and have re-organised a NEW Scottish Network (Re-start with 3 members) Germany Switzerland – New focus! RE-start with Nils Undritz.

  14. Ministerial Involvement Scotland, Poland & Hungary Top down approach. Strong ministerial support ease the way and an articulation of a national interest and engagement often gives better circumstances for the networks. The experience is, that the Ministries often find the HPH concept is good publicity for small money, and they therefore can sometimes be persuaded to giving a national support and taking a part in the establishment.
