This study examines the correlation between fine arts enrollment and student achievement measures for the 2007-2008 12th grade cohort. The findings indicate that for both the general population and students from low socio-economic backgrounds, taking more music and arts classes is associated with higher student achievement. Additionally, increased arts enrollment is linked to lower dropout rates in the cohort group. This research provides valuable insights into the benefits of fine arts education for students across different ethnicities and socio-economic levels.
